NOTE from Blue Fish Aquarium:
These have been tried on many glass aquariums in the store that are up to 125 gallons and the magnet mount did well. However, if your aquarium has thick panels and high amounts of circulation (like an oversized canister filter) you may need to move the thermometer to an area of lower circulation so the magnets can work better.
